How We Remember: The Legacy of the Holocaust Today Workshop with Echoes and Reflections
Classroom teachers, administrators, and curriculum leaders in NC and SC are invited to join us for a full day workshop with Echoes and Reflections on June 2, 2025 at Queens University in Charlotte to explore the legacy of the Holocaust.
How did the world respond when the reality of the Holocaust came to light? During this program, educators and leaders will examine the pursuit of justice at Nuremberg, the effect the trials had on how we understand the Holocaust, how survivors coped with the trauma to build new lives in the aftermath, the impact of antisemitism today, and how we remember and memorialize the Holocaust. Participants will not only receive a certificate for continuing education credits and a copy of a book related to the topic, but they will also enjoy learning from the workshop facilitator, Sheryl Ochayon, who is the Project Director of Echoes and Reflections visiting the United States from Yad Vashem in Israel.
This event is sponsored by three Holocaust organizations: The NC Council on the Holocaust, the Stan Greenspon Holocaust and Social Justice Education Center, and the SC Council on the Holocaust. While we know that the first week of June will be very difficult for educators still in school to attend with end of year testing happening, our workshop facilitator is only available for this date as she is coming from Israel. We hope you can join us!
Substitute reimbursement is not provided for this event.
