Gizella Abramson Holocaust Education Act Workshop

All English and Social Studies Teachers in Middle and High School as well as district curriculum leaders in NC are eligible to attend the Gizella Abramson Holocaust Education Act workshop, which is a training for teachers to learn how to use foundational lessons in the Holocaust in their own classrooms and learn about the Gizella Abramson Holocaust Education Act and the curriculum resources that have been developed. Participants will also get resources to help them train other teachers in these sessions and foundational lessons.

This workshop is now FULL and registration is CLOSED. Please refer to the information below if you are registered (if you filled out the Google form, you are registered). 

 

The workshop will be from 8:30 AM-4:00 PM at the City of Medicine Academy, 200 Wisteria Avenue, Durham, NC 27704. Please bring a charged device with you to the workshop, as well as any snacks or drinks you would like. Due to allergies, please avoid bringing any snacks with nuts in them and please avoid wearing scented lotions, perfumes, and colognes, as there are some with sensitivities to these things. We appreciate your help with this!
You will receive a CEU certificate for your attendance at the workshop after you have completed an evaluation. If you do not already have a set of the USHMM timeline cards, we recommend that you order your free set from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. You will not need to bring it with you to the workshop, but we will definitely recommend that you all have your own set so that you can use it in your own classroom and/or help train other teachers in how to use it effectively. Lunch will be on your own for the workshop, and so you can either go grab it from a local restaurant or bring lunch and eat it in the facility. We have shared the link to the agenda for the day below so that you will be familiar with the sessions. We look forward to seeing you on July 9th!
